New in the Etsy Shop

Love, Hugs, and Ladybugs is now in the Etsy Shop.  Etsy Shop This pattern is part of my Ladybug series that is being released.  At this time there is a total of 5 designs with 2 charts already added to the shop.  The first Ladybug pattern was Love Bug.  Both models was stitched on 14ct hand dyed Zweigart fabric.  I dyed the fabric with Rit Dye. I used colors Lemon Yellow and Marigold.   The fabric turned out absolutely B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L ! I used all DMC floss to stitch this pattern. DMC floss included : 310, B5200, 321, and 972.  I finished both patterns similarly.  I started with  two red Baskets from PopShelf.  I added red rick rack  between the aida stitch board and the black with white dot back board.   To finish off both pieces I added cute little ladybugs from Hobby Lobby which I found in the floral area.  The Ladybugs come with floral wire attached to them. They cost $1.79 each in my area for 4....

Keepsakes Summer Stitch Weekend

After Keepsakes gets done with Stitch-Con in June they put on Summer Stitch. Summer Stitch is held two Saturdays in July. You can attend both Saturdays or just one. It is a day of stitching with fifty other stitchin' friends in Evandale, a burb of Cincinnati.  Lunch is brought in by a local vendor. Drinks and door prizes are provided. There is a small trunk show for products to purchase. Most products are items left-over, held-over from Stitch-Con. The cost of attending is only $50 per Saturday. This is a nice small affordable stitching event.

This year the event was held in a new space due to construction. I really enjoyed the new space. There were large windows to let in a ton of light. This space had a full kitchen, and the bathroom was a wonderful size for a "Bigger Girl". The space was on the ground floor which allowed easy access. The table and chair space were great. I could walk around the table with plenty of room. There were plenty parking spaces.

I sat right by the door and large windows. The ac ran along the wall on the floor under the windows. The ac was able to be controlled by us, so staff were able to maintain the area. I did get a little chilly from time to time but it was not that big of a deal. I forgot my sweater! Fault is my own. One downside was again my fault. I travelled with many bags for my project and because I chose that seat by the windows and floor ac, I could not lean my bags against the wall. Again, totally my fault.

This year there were many people who traveled in for the day. There were several people from Indianapolis Indiana. There was a mom and daughter from Columbus, and many more. It was a wonderful time to meet up and stitch.

The day was amazing. I made new friends and spent time with old friends.

While at Summer Stitch I worked on a piece of my own creation, Ladybugs. I dyed a yard of Zweigart 14ct aida from Hobby Lobby in Lemon Yellow. I dyed it a bright pale-yellow color. I fell in love with this color. It allows the red, black, and white to POP.

Sadly, I ended up hating the letters I used. ~ More to Come~

Side Note/Thought

****  I kept designing and not liking the design. I changed colors, size, and so much more.  I ended up creating three new lady bug designs before ever going back to just name LadyBug which i again redesigned. ****

I did sign up for both Saturdays, however the second Saturday was cancelled by Keepsakes. Staff came down with Covid. They called on Wednesday to cancel and explained that refunds would be issued next week. Though this made me sad I completely understood.

Unfortunately, Covid did not stop with just staff. Several Friends who attended the first Saturday did end up with Covid. I ended up sick also with muscle aches and pains, but no respiratory impact.

Summer Stitch is was a great networking opportunity. ~No I do not mean for Business~  Stitchers shared information about stitching groups and events in the area or close areas.  I took note of all and joined several groups.  Here is some of the information that was shared.

Cincinnati OH has a Stitching Guild.  They meet regularly and have many trips to view stitching.

There is a Cincinnati Area Cross Stitch Facebook Group.  They welcome anyone in the area including Indiana and Northern Kentucky.   They have a monthly group meetup and post other gathers on their Facebook page.

They usually meet the last Friday of the month at Moonflower Coffee Collective.

There is a Sip and Stitch  posted on  Cincinnati Area Stitchers for July and August at Joseph Beth.

There were so much knowledge shared.... It was wonderful.  My whole goal for attending these events are to make friends who share my hobby.  ~ actually it is to meet people who will meetup at  stitching events  so i don't drag my husband to them. ~

Until the next post..... Happy Stitching !
